The Automatic Filter Tester 3140 uses the same proven oil aerosol generator technology as the 8127 and 8130 models. It produces an oil mist aerosol without generating heat, so a wide range of oils can be used. Two Condensation Particle Counters (CPCs) count upstream and downstream particles simultaneously. This enables fast, accurate, repeatable measurements of filters with efficiencies up to 99.999999% (8 nines) or penetrations as low as 0.000001%. Filter media with 99.9999% efficiency can be tested in 15 seconds; higher efficiency media may take slightly longer. Data output is displayed on the computer screen and can be automatically saved to a Microsoft Access database and downloaded to Microsoft Excel.
