The Automated Filter Tester 3140 utilizes the same proven oil aerosol generator technology used in Models 8127 and 8130. It produces an oil mist aerosol without generating heat, so a wide range of oils can be used. Two condensation particle counters (CPC) count both upstream and downstream particles. This enables fast, accurate, repeatable measurements on filter media with efficiencies as high as 99.999999% (8 out of 9) or penetrations as low as 0.000001%. Media with 99.9999% efficiency can be tested in less than 15 seconds; more efficient media takes slightly longer. Data output is displayed on the PC screen and can be automatically saved to a Microsoft Access database and downloaded to Microsoft Excel.
