The Automated Filter Media Tester 3160 is the most advanced automated tester for testing filter media and filtration media using submicron aerosols. It can be used to simultaneously test low- and high-efficiency filter media and filtration media with efficiencies as high as 99.999999% (8 out of 9) or with penetration rates as low as 0.000001%. The 3160 utilizes a series of sprays and a TSI electrostatic classifier to test filter media or filtration media with mono-disperse particles of known size. Two condensation particle counters (CPC) simultaneously count upstream and downstream particles, and computer software calculates penetration values. The filter is sequentially tested with up to 20 different monodisperse particles in the 15 to 800 nm particle size range. Penetration rates are calculated for each particle size. At the end of the test, the 3160 generates a penetration vs. particle size curve and then produces a summary of the test results, including the most penetrable particle size (MPPS).
Test results can be automatically saved to a Microsoft Access database and downloaded to Microsoft Excel.
The Model 3160 complies with EN 1822 Part 3 and Part 5 and provides the most complete media penetration information of any media tester.
You will find it essential for product development and quality control.
