The Automated Filter Media Tester 3120 meets the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) requirements for testing of powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) filter media. It is an oil-based aerosol tester with an airflow range of 100 to 500 L/min, capable of detecting efficiencies as high as 99.999% or penetrations as low as 0.001%. In fact, the Model 3120 uses the same proven oil-based aerosol generators as those used in the Models 8127 and 8130. Like the 8127 and 8130, Type 3120 features a dual light scattering photometer that detects both upstream and downstream particle concentrations, ensuring fast, repeatable results.
The touch-panel display makes the Model 3120 easy to use, so there is little need for specialized operator training. On-screen menus allow the user to easily change test parameters to meet the specific requirements of different filter media. A microprocessor controls the tester, calculating and displaying media penetration, resistance and flow rates. Self-testing diagnostics and auto-zeroing between tests ensure accurate, stable and reproducible test results.
