The Electrospray Aerosol Generator Model 3480 (EAG) produces highly concentrated monodisperse aerosols, ranging from submicron particles of 2 to 100 nm (150 nm initial droplet diameter). A charged liquid solution or suspension is passed through a capillary tube, producing a charged liquid in the capillary tip region. The electric field draws the droplets from the capillary tube, forming particles. The air and CO2 droplets are mixed with the evaporated liquid and the remaining particles are neutralized by electrostatics.
