The TSI Mask Integrity Test System (MITA) 8120, when used in tandem with a CBRN Mask Protection Assessment Test System or a PortaCount® Respirator Fit Tester, can quickly detect leaks in CBRN gas masks and commercial respirators, thereby maximizing personnel safety.
MITA performs aerosol leak testing using the PortaCount® Respirator Fit Tester as a particle detector to evaluate mask integrity. Masks are tested under negative pressure and constant flow on a full headform with an enhanced bag seal system that provides a complete seal for most gas mask and full-face respirator types and sizes. The full headform configuration allows for the use of mask headbands, which simulates real-life applications and provides more accurate measurements.
When leaks are detected during the evaluation, the integrated aerosol probe and generator can be used to pinpoint the leak for rapid diagnosis and repair. The operator uses the aerosol probe to indicate the exact location of particle accumulation around the mask, and the PortaCount® Respirator Fit Tester's single particle counting capability detects sudden increases in particle concentrations and issues an alarm.
The integrity (protection factor) of all masks, the exhalation valve and the drinking water tube can be tested separately
Equipped with an aerosol detection probe, it can accurately locate the leak point, facilitating and fast evaluation and repair
Full headform configuration allows the use of mask headbands, which can simulate actual applications in real life and provide more accurate measurement results.
Single headform with enhanced bag seal system can provide a complete seal for most types and sizes of gas masks and full-face respirators.
Direct reading menu with step-by-step test sequence is very easy to read, and tedious operator training is not required.
The streamlined menu structure and simple and practical keypad simplify the operation process.
Quick installation/disassembly process saves time.
Efficient test sequence can complete the test and evaluation of at least 12 masks in 1 hour.
The instrument and all components can be placed in the same portable box for easy transportation.
