
The Monodisperse Droplet Generator MDG100 generates a stream of uniformly sized droplets from 50 μm to 300 μm. It is based on the principle of applying constant periodic excitation to a laminar liquid jet, which leads to the formation and growth of surface waves as the jet slows down. As a result, the decomposition of each surface wave cycle into a single droplet occurs. This is an established technique for single-size droplet generation, which is commonly used in fundamental droplet studies such as evaporation, combustion, suspension and surface interactions. It is also used for validation and calibration checks of various instruments.
