Recently, Ms. Xia Qunyan, general manager of Esky Purify Company and president of Shenzhen Biological and Industrial Clean Industry Standard Professional Committee, was interviewed by Chip Uncovered with the theme of "Facing the air purification problems of electronic semiconductors and escorting product yield".
Topics in this issue:
-
Home purification vs. industrial grade purification, what's the difference?
-
A really good cleanroom must be low energy consumption, high efficiency and high output
-
Directly hit the pain point of energy consumption, the most suitable program is so "refined".
-
Participate in the compilation of industry standards, good standards are "tried" out
Home Purification and Industrial Grade Purification
What is the difference?
Phantom Reality (Anchor): Welcome to Chip Reveal, I'm the anchor, Phantom Reality. Today, I am very happy to have a friend with more than 20 years of experience in the purification industry, but also a beautiful president, she is the general manager of Esky Purify, Ms. Xia Qunyan. First of all, I would like to ask Ms. Xia to say hello to all of you!
Xia Qunyan (guest): Hello, thank you for the invitation to Chip Reveal, I am Xia Qunyan from Esky Purify.
Phantom reality (anchor): When it comes to purification, your first reaction may be to think of home purifiers. In Shanghai, many people are in a state of isolation at home, and there are fresh air systems and purification systems at home to improve the quality of the environment, like I have several purifiers at home, and they work well. First of all, can you give us a general idea of what you mean by air purification from the practitioner's point of view? Is there a difference between purification and purification used in the home?
Ms. Xia Qunyan (Guest): What is more concerned in family life is particulate matter pollution, such as PM2.5, which was known to the public before, and the other is the chemical pollutants left over from home renovation, mainly toluene. Some families on the side of the road where windows cannot be opened, the indoor space is relatively confined and air purifiers are needed to improve the air quality inside the home. The standards for this type of household type purification are different from the standards for special industrial fields that our company normally works in, such as electronics, semiconductors, and biopharmaceuticals.
What is this difference? It is the precision requirements. The electronic semiconductor field of cleanliness, temperature and humidity, pressure and chemical contaminants and other overall cleanliness requirements are very high, why? IC industry from the past nineties 800nm to 200nm, and now 5nm, 3nm, the process is becoming more and more advanced, the precision is gradually improved, which also means that some of the key technologies to be more precise, the requirements of the environment is also very demanding.
China's air cleanliness industry current relevant standards
If the environment is bad, it can cause irreversible damage to the product yield. It is important to realize that there are more than 700 processes in semiconductors, and if there is serious particulate and chemical contamination in the core few processes, it can cause the overall yield to drop very significantly. For the home, you can use broader indicators, such as PM2.5;but for the semiconductor industry, there will be more detailed requirements, to what extent? Very often to control at 0.1 micron, and chemical pollution, we require 0.3 PPb (Part per billion, indicating the concentration, also known as the concentration of parts per billion) And the household is relatively more broad, dozens of PPb can be.
Phantom Reality (anchor): It sounds like the environmental requirements of people are not at all on the same scale as the environmental requirements of semiconductor manufacturing, so it seems that people aren't quite so delicate.
Xia Qunyan (guest): For civilian use, many devices only need to meet the PM2.5 target or VOC (Volatile organic compounds) Total indicators, then see the instrument may be very cheap, a hundred dollars to tens of dollars. But for semiconductors, these testing instruments are hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars. So the gap between industrialization and civilization is very large, every increase in a quantitative level, the corresponding technical difficulty is higher.
