TSI offers a variety of tracer particle generators for Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) as well as Multispectral Laser Velocimetry (LDV) applications. Each generator provides tracer particles of the appropriate size for flow velocity measurements in air and liquids. Different models of generators are able to use different materials (liquids and solids) and operate under different conditions to produce the right tracer particles.

Models 9302 and 9306 nebulizers are aerosol generators designed to produce both liquid and solid particles. The generators can be used to disperse a wide range of substances including water droplets, salt or sugar particles, polystyrene latex particles, and oil droplets.The concentration of particles produced by the Model 9306 Nebulizer can be adjusted by mixing the particles with outside air.

The Model 9307 (single-jet) and Model 9307-6 (six-jet) Laskin Nozzle Oil Droplet Generators are designed to provide a large number of tracer particles for Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) or Doppler Laser Velocimetry (LDV). They are also ideal for providing tracer particles in high speed wind tunnel experiments. These generators are usually filled with olive oil, but other fluids such as DEHS and salt solutions (to provide solid salt particles) can also be added.

The Model 9308 Smoke Generator is a compact, flexible, high output and easily transportable instrument. The volume concentration control feature allows the user to release the right amount of smoke, from small wisps of gas to large clouds of smoke, for any measurement.The Type 9308 Smoke Generator is controlled remotely or on-site via a control panel, which is connected to the machine via a standard 7-pin XLR connector.
