
The 3091 Fast Mobility Particle Size Spectrometer (FMPS?) particle size spectrometer detects particles in the 5.6 nm to 560 nm particle size range and provides a total of 32 channels of resolution (16 channels per decade). It utilizes electromigration detection technology similar to that used in our SMPS. However, the FMPS particle size spectrometer utilizes multiple low-noise electrostatics rather than CPCs for particle detection. This produces particle size distribution results with one second resolution, providing the ability to visualize particle events and changes in the particle size distribution in real time.
The FMPS particle size spectrometer operates at a high flow rate (10 L/min) to minimize diffusion losses of ultra-fine nanoparticles. It operates at ambient pressure to prevent evaporation of volatile particles and it requires no consumables.
These particle size analyzers are easy to transport, set up and operate. Configured to perform multiple tests in a single run, the unit can run continuously for up to 12 hours. Its large color VGA display and built-in control knobs provide easy access to instrument functions, configuration menus, and data displays.
