The 3091 Fast Mobility Particle Sizer (FMPS™) particle sizer detects particles in the 5.6 nm to 560 nm size range, providing a total of 32 channels of resolution (16 channels per decade). It uses electromigration detection technology, similar to that used in our SMPS. However, the FMPS particle sizer uses multiple low-noise electrometers rather than CPCs for particle detection. This produces particle size distribution measurements with one-second resolution, providing the ability to visualize particle events and changes in the size distribution in real time.
The FMPS particle size spectrometer operates at high flow rates (10 L/min) to minimize diffusion losses of ultrafine nanoparticles. It operates at ambient pressure to prevent evaporation of volatile particles, and it requires no consumables.
These particle size analyzers are easy to transport, set up, and operate. Units configured for single-shot and multiple-shot testing can run continuously for up to 12 hours. Its large color VGA display and built-in control knobs provide easy access to instrument functions, configuration menus, and data display.
