TSI's SMPS TM Scanning Mobility Sizer is widely used to measure the size distribution of aerosol particles below 1 micron. The system is also used to accurately measure the size of nanoparticles in liquid suspensions. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) uses TSI's Differential Mobility Analyzer (DMA) to measure standard reference particle sizes of 60nm and 100nm. SMPS TM Scanning Mobility Sizer particle size measurement is a discreet technique in which the count concentration is measured directly without making assumptions about the shape of the particle size distribution. The method does not rely on the refractive index of the particle or liquid and provides a high degree of absolute size accuracy and measurement repeatability. TSI's Model 3938 is the third generation of the SMPS, trusted by researchers for 30 years.
