Thermo The Scientific Model 48i CO Analyzer is designed to measure carbon monoxide (CO) levels in ambient air. The Model 48i Gas Analyzer utilizes gas filter correlation analysis technology with over 30 years of field-proven, reliable performance.
48i is based on the fact that carbon monoxide (CO) absorbs infrared light at a wavelength of 4.6 microns. Since the infrared absorption method is a non-linear measurement technique, the instrument electronics need to convert the basic analyzer signal to a linear output. The Model 48i analyzer is linearly calibrated to the instrument output using a precise calibration curve to ensure accurate linearity over the 10,000 ppm concentration range.
48i CO Analyzer can also be equipped with an oxygen sensor module.
The Model 48i with Oxygen Sensor uses paramagnetic sensor technology to extend the CO measurement capability to read and report up to 100% oxygen concentration in the sample. In addition, a programming feature allows the user to correct the CO reading by the amount of oxygen in the sample.
